- Is chasing a far fetched dream worth being away from the best people in my life?
- Do I have enough knowledge and experience to make beneficial decisions?
- How do I get myself on track when I don’t even know what path I want to take?
- How do I believe everything’s going to be okay when life is proving me wrong?
These are questions that I get asked on a daily basis from peers who come to me for advice. And while most people consider me to be the world’s next Dr. Phil (but better), I 100% struggle taking my own advice.
Today, I came across this message and it completely inspired me. I felt as if it is my duty to share.

Reading this brought a new light to those questions for me. Instead of feeling completely overwhelmed in chaos trying to pinpoint answers for myself, I felt (for the first time in awhile) comfortable in the uncomfortable when presenting myself these questions.
Is chasing a far fetched dream worth being away from the best people in my life?
It’s not far fetched if you believe in yourself and you work with consistency to get to where you want to be. The best part about leaving everything and everyone behind to chase a dream is that they’re the ones who are right by your side supporting you no matter what. They want nothing more but for you to excel. Plus, once you do succeed, then you can buy get-away homes in like 5 different countries for you all to flee to on a regular basis in your private jet with a buffet. THAT’S A DREAM.
Do I have enough knowledge and experience to make beneficial decisions?
No. You will never know or experience everything. You just have to take life as it comes. Analyze your situations, think realistically about what is beneficial for you long-term when it comes to your sanity and energy. We go through trials and tribulations in life because they teach us lessons that we could never fathom until we go through them. When you find yourself going through times in life that are affecting you, (both good and bad), take a moment to take it in and recognize what that moment is giving you and what you want to carry with you from it.
How do I get myself on track when I don’t even know what path I want to take?
There are so many paths to take in life, don’t feel so much pressure that there’s only one path that’s right for you. Think about what you truly want out of life. Paint the big picture in your head of what your end goal looks like and then work from there.
Stay on paths that maintain the momentum to your end goal. Sometimes things happen and we need to go off track for a bit to do what we need to do, but keep the energy alive. If you can’t work directly towards the dream, keep the dream alive and fresh. Create a dream board. Journal. Watch content that keeps you driven. Do something that keeps the craving awake.
How do I believe everything’s going to be okay when life is proving me wrong?
Life is always going to do some crazy, unexpected nonsense that’s going to throw us off. We all know this, so why are we still so surprised when something goes wrong? Expect the worst, hope for the best.
Remember all of the things you’ve already conquered in life. Remember times when it seemed like the world was coming to an end, but you’re still alive, aren’t you? Life keeps going and just because something might be taking over your life at this very moment, doesn’t mean it’s going to haunt you forever. Nor does it define you. Saddle up, take care of your business, find that light at the end of the tunnel, push through to that light, then let go and move on.
Finding hope is the best thing you can do for yourself. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the negativity that it begins to affect our energy, and our energy is the key to life. The energy we give off is the energy we are going to attract.
“It’s [life] like a file in a computer. If your heart’s not open, you don’t download the possibilities.”

I challenge you to wake up in the morning and put a smile on your face even if you don’t want to. Step up to a mirror and chant, “today is a beautiful day, I am beautiful, and I’m going to take over the world,” and then go about your day. Every time you’re in the bathroom take 5 seconds to look into the mirror and remind yourself that you are pure ROYALTY and today is your day to shine. Do this everyday. If you think this is silly and you think I’m crazy, you’re probably right, but you still need to do it. Give it a chance.
Lastly, remember when you wanted what you currently have. It’s always beneficial to look back on your life and think about the things you used to dream of when you were younger and asking yourself if 9-year-old you would be proud of where you are now. It’s important to remember the things you used to want, realizing that you have these things now, and being grateful you have them.
So, here’s to reminding yourself that there’s so much light in the world, and in you. Here’s to opening ourselves up to accepting things as they are and allowing ourselves to change our perspectives for the better and attract positive energy into our souls. Here’s to being the best us that we can be, being gentle, yet disciplined with ourselves along the way, and striving towards our dreams.
There’s always a positive, remember that.
Making a change in your life starts with you and your perspective.
We are all in this crazy thing called “life” together. Don’t take it too serious. Laugh more. Feel more. Talk more. Read more. Just be you, more. You are not alone. We are all trying to figure ourselves out.
WE YOU ARE LUMINOUS.
Thanks for reading.
